In preparation for Adobe’s CS4 release I’ve put together a set of icons. They’re fairly close to what I’ve seen of the icons for the upcoming apps, though I’ve guessed on the colors for most of them. I’ve added nice rounded corners that match other similar sets. It’s fairly complete, and has a couple extra apps not from Adobe also. Enjoy! Download here.

I’ve put some work into my bit.ly application (I’m calling it Bit Pile for now), and I’ve got some screenshots from it to show. It still needs some work, but most of the functionality is there. I’d like to add mass import and export at some point, but those functions haven’t made their way in yet. Here’s the first shot (I’ll get to the others after the break).

Sort of a variation on a wallpaper I’d done some time ago (which is on my DeviantArt page). Having the dock sitting right on the floor looks great, and I’m extremely happy with how the lighting came out on this one. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I have.

I don’t do a lot of linking to other sites (not that I really have enough posts to constitute a trend of any sort), but this seems worthwhile to me. I’ve been puzzled for some time why the public, law enforcement, and the media have a fear of photographers. If indeed terrorists were going to photograph their targets (which hasn’t happened, see the link below), why in the world would they bring a tripod, a fancy SLR, and lenses? Wouldn’t a cameraphone work just as well, if not better? Anyhow, give it a read, I just wish more of the right people would read and heed the sentiment:
Are photographers really a threat?

I’ve been looking for a good Finder replacement for a while, but couldn’t ever find one I really liked. Then I ran across the old Happy Mac icon and decided that with an update it would fit the bill perfectly, so here it is. Click on the preview for a zip file with a Mac icon, and a Window icon (mostly because IconBuilder makes it so easy), and let me know what you think!

I’m speaking here primarily from my experiences as a UI designer, so take this as you will. I’ve been doing some reading recently in About Face 3, a great book by the way, highly recommended. It brought together some thoughts I’d been having and, so, inspired this post. So what do I think the all important tool is?
